The Cinque Terre (five villages of Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Manarola, Corniglia and Monterosso al Mare) is a series of five tuscany fishing villages. These villages are high up on the Italian Riviera.
Riomaggiore is the easternmost of the five villages and has the medieval tower houses. These are painted in the typical Lygur colors.
The Cinque Terre is famous for its beauty. Over the centuries, people carefully built terraces for growing grapes and olives. In rough, steep landscapes, these are up to the cliffs with a view of the Mediterranean.
Breathtaking views along the wild but inviting coastline, medieval castles, lush vineyards and lively colors make this excursion an unforgettable experience.
In 1997 the villages were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Riomaggiore are about an hour’s drive from the apartment.
The individual villages can be reached by ship, train or through the narrow winding road.
